Doris Dennehy is a Newmarket artist who has enjoyed painting throughout her life. She paints house portraits on commission, and she has painted local and foreign scenes that have caught her interest. Doris' paintings hang in the Newmarket Public Library and in private collections in the area. Also, her paintings are exhibited in various art shows such as Lamprey Arts & Culture Alliance (LACA) community art shows. This weekend she is a guest artist vendor at the Newmarket Farmers' Market where she'll be selling her oil paintings and notecards.
She moved to Newmarket with her husband, Chuck, in the summer of 1997 after retiring from teaching at an Exeter area high school. Doris currently studies under Mary Vermeesch of North Hampton. Contact Doris for more information.
The Newmarket Farmers' Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Stone Church parking lot through October 10th. The weekly vendors offer fresh and organic food choices.
