The Newmarket Farmers' Market opened it's first season June 20th in the parking lot of the Stone Church. This important step in offering the community local, fresh, healthy, eating alternatives has been noted by a Newmarket artist.
Candace R. Stella has imprinted her painting of downtown Newmarket on tote bags. Notice the new street lamps, wide sidewalks and outdoor cafe dining captured in this inviting and picturesque painting of new Newmarket. These limited edition market bags commemorate the occasion with the text Newmarket Farmer's Market 2009 and provides the weblog address for Newmarket Happenings. These market bags will be available starting at the next market on Saturday July 11th for $12.
The farmers' market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Stone Church parking lot through October 10th. The vendors offer wine, goat cheese, baked goods, organic produce and meats, soap and much more.
