Sunflour Baking will have challah, a traditional Jewish braided egg bread freshly baked for market goers tomorrow morning, in recognition of the Jewish holiday and New Year, Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is observed on the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. Round challah loaves are often used on Rosh Hashanah - this round challah is traditionally made for the new year to symbolize the spiral of the passing seasons and years.
Many have enjoyed challah among the selection of breads offered on most Saturdays. Tomorrow challah will be available in a limited supply. Sunflour Baking is a weekly vendor at the Newmarket Farmers' Market. Market goers eagerly anticipate their delectable pastries and fresh bread every Saturday.
New to the market is Eagles Nest Orchard located in Exeter. Kirk Kucharski will bring fresh unpasteurized apple cider made from his orchard apples.
The Newmarket Farmers' Market is open tomorrow September 12th from 9 am to 1 pm. Due to the high probability of rain, the market will be held indoors at The Stone Church.
