On Veteran's Day, Wednesday, November 11th, a Veteran's Day Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Main Street. The public is welcome to attend (please enter at the front ofthe building). This event is sponsored by the Newmarket Veterans Memorial Trust Committee. For more information, email Janice Rosa, the committee chair person. A Veteran's dinner will be held on Saturday, November 14th for Newmarket Veterans. This dinner is free and open to all Newmarket Veterans and their spouses. From 3 to 6 p.m. a pasta dinner with sauces, salad, garlic bread, coffee and desserts will be served. The Newmarket Veterans Memorial Trust Committee was established in 2002 to oversee the veterans sites and memorials throughout the town such as the War Memorial (bandstand) located in the downtown area. This site was built and dedicated in 1921 to remember the names of the World War I veterans. World War II and memorial plaques for the Korean and Vietnam conflicts are also displayed here.
