2010 Great Bay Half Marathon in Newmarket on Sunday April 11th

The 2010 Great Bay Half Marathon is Sunday April 11th.  Kick off spring with a run or walk on the beautiful country roads of Newmarket, New Hampshire. Sponsored by Exeter Hospital, this popular 4th annual half marathon travels scenic roads along the Great Bay Estuary offering water views of the Bay and the town of Newmarket. 

The 13.1 mile loop run draws up to 2000 participants both walkers and runners nationwide.  The course is just slightly different this year with less hills and a downtown finish.  

As in the previous years, race participants will experience entertainment throughout the course such as music and belly dancers to keep them moving.  Check out the race information here for times, registration and other particulars.  
The Inspiration 5K race is also part of this race event.  Both Half Marathon and 5K participants can nominate a cause for which they will be raising funds. Race sponsors will pick one and name the 5K the cause for this race year.

The 4th Annual Health and Fitness Expo is Saturday April 10th during race registration and packet pickup hours 12 to 5 pm in the Newmarket High School Gym.The event will serve as the early number-pickup for half marathon and 5K runners and walkers, but is also open to the general public.
The Expo will provide an opportunity to discover the Exeter Hospital's premium services. Free preventive health checks and screenings by  professionals from Exeter Hospital and Synergy will be offered to all, as well as deals on the latest in running and fitness equipment.  About 15 exhibitors including professional coaches, race directors, and vendors of running gear, training aids, and nutritional products will be present.

Cool hats are being offered for $10 prior to the race and $15 the day of the race.
